INCLUSIVE EDUCATION CANADA LAUNCHES A NEW NATIONAL E-RESOURCE WEBSITE

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, Inclusive Education Canada hosted a launch event in Saint John, New Brunswick, for the unveiling of the Source for Inclusive Education, a website and resource for educators and families.

This new on-line resource provides educators, school leaders, and parents with the foundational knowledge of inclusive practices in schools and classrooms that they need to ensure all students succeed.

“We know inclusion can challenge teachers and families, particularly those just beginning on that path. This new website is designed to help them as they move to meet the challenge,” said Dr. Gordon Porter, Director of Inclusive Education Canada.

Executive Vice President of Inclusion Canada, Krista Carr adds that “Source for Inclusive Education provides a practical information for parents/families to advocate for and advance inclusive education in classrooms nationwide.

The project is a partnership between Inclusive Education Canada and the Community Living Board, Fundy Region, based in Saint John, New Brunswick.

“We support inclusive education, and we are confident this website will be a practical support to educators and families in Canada,” said Mike George, a parent and advocate.

“Our family has seen the benefits of inclusion for our son. We know that teamwork between parents and teachers can make a difference, and this project is based on that partnership.”

Source for Inclusive Education is now online. We encourage everyone to visit the website and share this resource to maximize its reach and impact across Canada.
