Talking about Inclusive Education: A Month of Discussion

Welcome to a special project of Inclusive Education Canada for National Inclusive Education Month – February 2016.

The commentaries posted on our website during the month of February represent the vision and opportunity possible as we make Canadian schools inclusive. We are in the second decade of the 21st Century and the time for exclusion and separation of our children in public education is over.

The promise of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Article 24) must be achieved.

The teachers, principals, academics, parents and advocates who join their voices in support of inclusive schools and classrooms need to be heard. Their commentaries are a collective call to action.

We appreciate the contribution of each of the 28 individuals who accepted our invitation to contribute to this effort.

Check out a new posting each day in February, and join the discussion on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
