Report Issued on Accessibility in Manitoba Educational Systems

Education Solutions Manitoba, in conjunction with Barrier-Free Manitoba and with financial support from Community Living Manitoba, has issued an important report on the results of an extensive survey of education provision for students with disabilities in Manitoba schools.

The report, A Window into the Accessibility of Manitoba’s Education Systems: From Early Learning and Childcare, through Nursery/Kindergarten to Grade 12 and into Post-Secondary was released in Winnipeg on February 22, 2018.

The Executive Summary also provides an excellent overview of the results.

Over 600 persons completed one of the three surveys used in the study. The opinions shared by this large number of respondents provides a rich window into current accessibility issues in Manitoba educational systems.

Anne Kresta and John VanWalleghem, principals of Education Solutions Manitoba, conducted the research.
